Christian Counseling

Whether secular, Christian or non-denominational, licensed professionals do not push faith on a client. A counselor may ask, "Faced with these issues, how does your faith advise you?" and readily offer space for a spiritual therapeutic connection. Transpersonal psychology incorporates ideas from various religious / cultural traditions and modern psychological theories. In this manner, Christian counseling integrates faith into the therapeutic process from a biblically-informed perspective. We aim to address emotional suffering by providing an empathic spiritual platform to those seeking help.

Grief Counseling

Helping those who feel overwhelmed by life's unexpected events to overcome grief in the many different ways it manifests and discover a healthier emotional pathway to move forward. We utilize a faith-based approach to crisis intervention created by difficult life situations, such as infidelity, relationship break-ups, social media betrayal, divorce, car accidents, death of a loved one, job loss, extended unemployment, financial hardship such as bankruptcy, legal trials and readjustment to society after incarceration.

Addiction Counseling

There are many forms of addictive behavior, ranging from cell phone use, online shopping, hoarding, pornography, gambling, video-gaming, binge-eating, plastic surgery/tattoos to drugs and alcohol. We provide a therapy that focuses on sobriety, managing obsessive compulsive habits and free from substance use, as we learn to form the foundation for a healthier and more sustainable recovery journey.

The goal is to develope strategies towards recovery, such as manage cravings / triggers, learn and practice healthy coping skills, build a support network, re-establish family connections, regain employment -- all the while engaging in therapy sessions to help manage relapses and the underlying issues contributing to substance use.

Therapy for Anxiety

Therapy can help you uncover the underlying causes of your worries and fears; learn how to relax; look at situations in new, less frightening ways; develop better coping and problem-solving skills and techniques used in Adlerian Therapy following the predominant Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) model, Action and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

Life Transitions

We are creatures of habit. Changes can be hard. Grief may be involved in the process of adaptation and adjustment. It requires patience and self care as we take on new roles. We offer a therapy which focuses on managing the stress related to facing anticipated and unanticipated changes such as, moving in with a romantic partner, new career, relocation, birth of a child, going to college, graduation, health challenges, reaching a significant age, existential crisis, empty nest, aging and planning for retirement.

Therapy for Depression

Talking with a mental health professional about personal issues can be tough. But, it can help you come to grips with negative personality traits that influence your daily decisions, deal with life's challenges and ultimately move from a minus to a plus situation. In many cases, depression can present in the form of anger, changes in sleep and eating habits.

Psychological treatments (also known as talk-therapies) have been found to be effective in the treatment of mood disorders. Therapy can help you identify concerns that add to a negative mind-set, change your thinking patterns and build emotional coping skills so that you're better equipped to deal with life's stresses and conflicts. At the most basic level, treatment can stabilize someone who has suicidal thoughts and provide the emotional support and techniques to survive.
